Ciao a tutti!
First of all, as I'm new on this forum, I wanted to say hello to all of you! And I already have a question
I'm planning to go to Italy in summer (most probably sometime around August) and I was wondering if you could recommend me some spots. Most of people from Poland usually go windsurfing in Italy on Garda lake,
but I was thinking about something further in the south, more like a bay rather than open sea and with an equipment rental. In return I can offer you some advice and information on windsurfing in Poland
thanks,
kasia

Ciao Kasia, sorry for my bad english, you know i'm an old navigator,
you are welcome to the Forum, we will be pleased to meet you and show you some spots of the middle of Italy, I think the most interesting for you could be
Vindicio a place really safe with really smooth water, ideal for winds from south east, I'm not sure about this but I think that there it is possible also to rent
all the equipment, it is a termic spot so it is really good in August.
Vindicio is about 200Km at south of Rome, otherwise there is Castel Gandolfo Lake, really near Rome and also ideal for south east winds.
Bracciano Lake instead is suitable for winds from north. Which city of Poland you are ?? Where you go usually to practice windsurf ??
Ciao

The best wind for Vindicio (between the cities of Gaeta and Formia) is W.

Other places where you could go in summer are Alimini, Frassanito and other spots in the adriatic coast of Puglia:

[quote]Ciao Kasia, sorry for my bad english
you should see my Italian

Ciao ragazzi! thanks for your suggestions, I'll have something to think about during the winter time. Anyway I need a place with a language school somewhere nearby and I know there in one in Otranto in Puglia, so it could be it. But still lots of time to decide so probably I'll visit your forum form time to time and ask for help, if you don't mind

[quote]Which city of Poland you are ?? Where you go usually to practice windsurf ??
I'm form Poznan, so the nearest place is Kiekrz Lake. It is probably not the best place for windsurf as the wind is very changable. There are some other lake spots in this area but they are a bit more further from the town. Anyway, the best palce to windsurf in Poland is Hel Peninsula - one the one side you have the Baltic sea for waves and on the other the bay where you can sail very far from beach in the shallow water and with constant wind.

take care,
kasia

ps. is there an equipment rental by Castel Gandolfo Lake?

Ciao Kasia,
yes in Castel Gandolfo you can find surely one place where to rent some equipment,
I'm almost sure that it is not the newest equipment you can rent but there is a little bit of choise,
I can remember that it is not so cheap, I think about 15euro/h or more.
You have your own equipment or you rent everytime ??
The Hel spot seems to be really interesting also if I imagine that the temperature there are always really low
for many of us but probably not for you, and also my congratulation,
I could never think that someone from Poland could find interesting to practice Windsurf there.
If you want any help or suggestions on your summer in italy or other feel free to ask us anything,
bye

Magellano

P.S. 1 : I can't understand why Serfer doesn't talk to you about sicilian spots !!!

P.S.2 : Can you write something in italian for Profondo Rosso (... and me too) we know you already study a little bit of italian, true ??

vero capisco un po ma scrivere e parlare sono molto difficili per me ... but I start my Italian lessons again in January so I may be able to write sth more quite soon

About Hel spots and temperatures there it's quite opposite - it's usually hot in summer and actually lots of people go there (I think it's the most popular place for windsurf in Poland). You should rather congratulate those who do it in spring and autumn in open sea (The Baltic one of course )
take care,
kasia

ps. sicilia? that sounds interesting! dai Surfer, di mi qualcosa

I didn't tell you about sicilian spots only because there are not many windsurfing centers, so if you don't have your windsurfing equipment you cannot do windsurfing at the Sicily best spots.

Ciao, let me understand Kasia,
which temperature I can found in Hel spot now, in spring and on summer ??
If it is like we like ( ... I mean about 20° C ) during some period of the year,
could be interesting to organize a travel to visit this spot, you know we are organizing to go to Tarifa in summer,
but we are also interested to short travels of 3 or 4 days in places kisses from the winds, better if in cheap places.
La frase che hai scritto in italiano non ha errori, brava !!!.

Ciao

Ciao! during the summer months the average temperature is definitely above 20, you can see for yourself at http://www.windguru.cz/int/historie.php?search=&step=3&id_spot=30&wj=knots&odden=1&odmes=7&odrok=2005&doden=1&domes=9&dorok=2005&tj=c&pwindspd=1&psmer=1&ptmp=1&pmwindspd=1&Submit=Go%21&odeslano=1&model=gfs

anyway, if you were interested in any additional info on this spot just let me know.
take care,
kasia

Thank you really much Kasia for this link that I saw Serfer already reuse to see weather conditions in Tarifa during last summer,

we usually use this one

http://www.wetterzentrale.de/

but it doesn't have history and is not specialized on some spot while this is true for your site, thanks again !!!

I think could be interesting also a link exchange between us, for example, some of us sometimes buy some equipment from Keppler, in Germany

http://www.surfshop-keppler.de/

It has really interesting prices but maybe you know some other online shops that have better interesting prices,
if so let us know it and compare, I'm still searching for a RRD Freestyle Wave 2006 at 150 euros :) ,
I'm sure I've to wait again for a really long time, but in the meaning time I'll continue to use an old glorious Mistral Electron 88lt.
Bye
